I'm hooked on Wildstar, guys, and I couldn't be more happy about it.
I've wanted to write more about Wildstar sooner, but I kept putting it off. I think I've been trying to craft the perfect blog to convince you to give it a try, and worried too much I would miss the mark. A lot of you have shown some interest and hit me up on twitter about it. Most of you are afraid to take the plunge into another MMO that might ultimately let you down. And I didn't exactly know how to convince you that Wildstar, despite the faults any new MMO has right out the gate, won't let you down.
But then Joystiq came along and wrote the blog post for me. And I couldn't agree more with this one specific sentiment:
"Is WildStar the fabled "WoW-killer"? No. The only thing that will "kill" Blizzard's behemoth is time. However, based on what I've played of the game, I'm confident in calling WildStar a successor to WoW's throne...
...To be sure, these are two different games with their own fans, and they should be judged on their own merits. Nevertheless, it's a comparison many are quick to make, and I'd like to address it. If you must view WildStar in relation to WoW, let me say this: WildStar does things differently enough, interestingly enough, and streamlined enough to make it feel like the game Blizzard would make in 2014. It is, in almost everything except name, World of Warcraft 2."
Don't be afraid to give Wildstar a shot. And if you're still on the fence, you should watch us play. We've set up a twitch channel for Toonhound studios, and we try to stream something new in Wildstar every Friday night (tonight we're going to try the dungeon Skullcano for the first time). Right now you can find us at twitch.tv/tabletitans. Subscribe to the channel and get pinged every time we do something new.
I'm smitten guys. And I want Wildstar to thrive and succeed. We're playing Exiles on Avatus. So come find us and say hello.
