Goddamn it, I’m going to San Diego AGAIN.
Those words have come out of my mouth, with varied inflections and tones since 2001. I skipped one year though so that means this is my 10th San Diego Comicon as an exhibitor. What can I say? The pageantry, the costumes….what a musical.
I will be spending Wednesday through Sunday filling booth 1237 with my butt-toots alongside Lance Handsomebeard. We’re tucked into the small of Penny Arcade’s back, so if you find them you’ll find us. And you want to find us, cause despite my whinging, we always have a party at San Diego. Here’s what you need to know:
- Our booth number is 1237, don’t bother writing it down, you’ll never find us anyway.
- I will have some new prints on sale for your gaming room, along with the regular books and goodies. More on the prints later this week.
- I will be on three panels this year. And I have listed the details of them below for you.

Digital Comics Price Fight, Sunday, 7/15/12. 11:00-12:00. Room 7AB
Every one is talking about what the “right” price is for digital comics. Should it be full price for same day as print, or should every comic be 99 cents a la iTunes? The conversation has been heated online and today it jumps into the physical realm! Join legendary comic writer Mark Waid, webcomics innovator and PvP creator Scott Kurtz, IDW Publishing’s ePublishing director Jeff Webber, and Top Shelf Productions’ director of digital Chris Ross for a lively discussion on the price of digital comics. Moderating this fight is comiXology’s Chip Mosher.
Whoo. That last one looks like an opportunity for me to piss a LOT of people off. Don’t miss that one.
